Torenia – Summer Wave® Large Amethyst

Torenia are somewhat of a legacy in the Proven Winners spring collection. This year, one of Proven Winners most popular varieties is joined by Large Violet, a larger version of 'Blue (Violet)'. This filtered-sun lover provides superb color throughout even the hottest months of the year and does well in pots and window boxes. Like all the rest of the Summer Waves, this plant thrives in high humidity. Plant it alone, or combine it with Sutera cordata (Bacopa) or Supertunias.

Pinching and Growth Regulators
For all sizes of containers, pinch the liner 1–2 weeks after transplant; for containers larger than 6” and for hanging baskets, trim around the edge of the container as needed prior to spacing or hanging of the baskets.
Florel should not be used, stunting and flower delay will occur. 10-15 ppm Sumagic spray is effective on Summer Wave. Catalina should not need PGRs as they are naturally compact.
Pest and Disease Management
General pest and disease practices as listed in notes.
Grower Tips
-Bronzed foliage is likely indicative of too cold of temperature and/or too high of light.
Catalina is more compact than Summer Wave. Torenia prefers warmer temperatures.
