Continuous Re-Bloom

Dead-Heading Not Necessary

Long Blooming

Maintenance Notes

Self-cleaning, no deadheading necessary.

Unlike most plants, Sutera will not wilt when drought stressed. Before the plant shows signs of wilting it will drop both the flowers and the buds on the plant. It takes about 2 weeks for the plant to come back into bloom after it has been drought stressed. To maintain constant bloom you will either need to monitor the plant closely and water before the soil gets too dry or you could plant Sutera with a plant that does wilt. Some good plants to consider are verbena, coleus, petunias etc. These companion plants will serve as indicator plants to let you know that the Sutera is dry and should help you avoid having the plant dropping blooms and buds due to drought stress.

An application of fertilizer or compost on garden beds and regular fertilization of plants in pots will help ensure the best possible performance.

Uses Notes

Great as an annual groundcover or edging plant in the landscape and in containers by itself or in combinations.

Pinching and Growth Regulators

For all sizes of containers, pinch the liner 1–2 weeks after transplant; for containers larger than 6” and for hanging baskets, trim around the edge of the container as needed prior to spacing or hanging of the baskets.

B-9 at 500-750 ppm is effective. Snowstorm White and Snowstorm Giant Snowflake tend to be more vigorous than other sutera, Bonzi at a low rate is effective at controlling the growth on these plants.

Pest and Disease Management

General pest and disease practices as listed in notes.

Grower Tips

Grower Tip for 'Snowstorm'
- High light in production is essential in early season. Light shade is required for summer production.

Grower Tip for 'Giant Snowflake'
- You must keep Giant Snowflake under control, especially under dark weather conditions. Giant Snowflake should be treated with 500-750 ppm of B-9.

Do not allow plants to dry out as they will drop both buds and flowers causing the plants to flush out of bloom for several weeks.
