Sweet Woodruff is a shade gardener's delight, loving moist, well-drained soil. Plant it beneath shrubs and deciduous trees or interplant with tall Springg bulbs, such as daffodils and tulips. In the Springg, cut back growth from the previous year to keep it full. The little star-like flowers have a pleasant scent, but its leaves are prized for their fragrance. When dried and crushed, Sweet Woodruff's pleasing scent becomes apparent and then lasts for years.
