A Glimpse Into Pleasant View Gardens

The Maintenance Technician will perform mechanical equipment maintenance and repairs for the overall maintenance of the facilities, grounds and equipment at Pleasant View Gardens. You will also address maintenance tasks and responsibilities for the greenhouse operating systems. All tasks are expected to be completed in an organized, timely and cost effective manner. To succeed in this role, you should be a self motivated team player with a positive outlook, solid work ethic and strong communication skills.

Requirements and job responsibilities:

  • General knowledge and exposure to industrial electrical work
  • Ability to construct office and operational areas, from stud walls to drywall
  • Knowledge of plumbing and irrigation systems
  • Exposure to equipment operation and maintenance (forklifts and scissor lifts, etc…)
  • Repair and maintenance of greenhouse facilities
  • Follows OSHA regulation and company safety policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
  • Required to be on a rotating schedule (off hours and/or weekends) to respond to events, emergencies and incidents.

Education / Experience Required:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to be certified on heavy equipment including forklifts, tractors and scissor lifts

As a full time, CDL A Driver, you’ll join a Logistics Team that is dedicated to excellent customer service by delivering products in a professional and efficient manner.

CDL A Drivers will operate vehicles safely, and keep organized and accurate records. Inform Logistics Coordinator and/or appropriate Pleasant View Gardens (PVG) staff when problems arise; meet personal goals and the business goals of Pleasant View Gardens. Communicate in an effective & professional manner with appropriate PVG staff and customers

  • Map out and organize daily delivery routes and follow delivery schedules
  • Safely operate the equipment necessary (cages, load bars, straps, pallet jacks, maps and GPS units) for successful delivery of orders to Pleasant View’s customers
  • Unload trucks when returning from runs; load vehicles when necessary
  • Complete and keep DOT logs, records and run sheets up-to-date
  • Document shortages and discrepancies and provide this information in a timely manner to appropriate logistic team member
  • Establish, maintain and strengthen professional communication with customers

Requirements:

  • Minimum 21 years of age (to drive out-of-state)
  • Valid Drivers License

The Shipping Supervisor will be responsible for planning, supervising and coordinating the work activities and resources necessary for shipping our products in accordance with cost, quality and quantity specifications.

The Schedule for this position is:

*** June – January: Monday – Friday 7:30am to 4pm ***

*** February – March: Saturday – Wednesday 11:30am to 8pm **

*** April – May: Sunday – Friday 11am to 7:30pm ***

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organize each day’s assignments for shipping personnel while maintaining a balance between sorting and pulling
  • Determine staffing needs based on demands and historical data
  • Produce the necessary paperwork for product pulling assignments for shipping personnel. Verify the accuracy and quality of orders.
  • Monitor pulling and sorting rates
  • Communicate progress to shipping manager regarding status of work, labor and equipment needs
  • Update crew members about scheduling, safety, announcements, & pull rates
  • Ensure shipping personnel understand tasks assigned
  • Proactively implement efficient processes with a focus on constant improvement
  • Maintain and conduct weekly audits of the tag inventory
  • Ensure that shipping leadership and crew members have adequate and appropriate training, equipment and supplies to successfully perform their shipping tasks

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrate excellent time management, dependability, planning, attention to detail, decision making, problem solving and follow through skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of employees and management to complete assigned tasks in a timely fashion

The Logistics Clerk will perform a variety of shipping and receiving tasks including recording data, data entry, pulling and sorting of plant materials. This position will work closely and effectively communicate with all levels of Shipping as well as other departments (Human Resources, Transportation and Production) and locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Record and report data for receiving, shipping and labor
  • Data Entry and analyzation of entries
  • Handling customer pick up orders during liner season

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent attention to detail, accurate data entry, organization and time management skills
  • Proficiency in MS office products including Excel, Outlook and Word and the ability to learn custom software (PICAS) is necessary
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

The Truck Loader is responsible for loading trucks with product safely and efficiently. You will ensure correct product and quantity are loaded on the the right truck while operating power equipment safely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Loads trucks in sequence based on delivery schedule and routing using load bars, bungees, straps to ensure a secure delivery of carts and pallets of product
  • Inspects equipment for safety issues and turns on single and dual temp trailers refrigerator units at the proper times
  • Distributes finished load sheets to the dispatcher, and to the driver
  • Reports any discrepancies in trolley/pallet counts, missing plants, or unsound pallets to management
  • Communicate in an effective & professional manner with appropriate PVG staff and customers
  • Safely operate the equipment necessary (cages, load bars, straps, pallet jacks, maps, and GPS units)
  • Keep vehicles and dock area clean
  • Inform appropriate team member of equipment and vehicle problems

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to pass a DOT medical exam for medical card
  • Must be able to maneuver up to 150 lbs.
  • Have a solid work ethic and ability to work under pressure
  • Responsible, well organized, self-starter and able to work independently.
