We’re currently looking for an R&D Manager to join our team and work with us as we continue to achieve our goals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for horticulture as well as the ability to generate new ideas that help us continue to grow! The R&D Manager will provide leadership, direction and support to the R&D team. You’ll work with sales, marketing and operations to establish and implement company goals for continuous improvement in plant quality, superior genetics, new product categories and paths to new and existing markets.

Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Manage a team of R&D professionals: implement departmental policies, establish weekly planning meetings, prioritize work flow, oversee the R&D budget and provide timely and accurate training.
  • Generate ideas for new products and research feasibility in terms of profitability, resource availability and compliance with regulations.
  • Manage the direction for new plant introduction, new plant identification and program development
  • Lead the product development process through prototyping and pre-production phases, owning the transition from R&D to Marketing and Production.
  • Maintain a continual working knowledge of Operation / Growers needs/wants and feedback
  • Work in tandem with department manages to ensure successful business operations


  • 10 or more years of horticultural or greenhouse experience including research and sales
  • Bachelor’s degree in horticultural field; Master’s degree preferred
  • 5 – 7 years of supervisory or management experience
  • Knowledge of commercial greenhouse operations
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and switch tasks quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate your vision to team members and partners

The Logistics Manager will manage all efforts of the Shipping/Transportation departments, providing team leadership to carryout tasks which lead to quality product and cost effective logistics.  The Logistics Manager is also responsible for  developing a staff that is highly motivated, goal oriented and exercises great pride in the work they do.

Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and organize development of personnel through training, planning, motivating, and supporting.
  • To maintain a positive, cooperative and results oriented team interfacing departments they work with.
  • Responsible for communicating with any/all appropriate PVG staff necessary
  • Responsible for accurate and timely documenting of any information within the shipping and transportation departments.
  • Proactive implementation and monitoring of efficiency with a specific focus on constant improvement
  • “Hands On” setting of example
  • Managing labor needs (within department and coordinating with interfacing departments) to address “at once demands” / daily fluctuations of a highly seasonal operation.
  • Purchasing and inventory control
  • Managing contracts/lease agreements for the Fleet, small parcel carriers, and 3PL’s
  • Maintain a safe working environment

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Strong computer skills, MS Office Suite
  • Has successfully managed a budget of $4,000,000 or more
  • Broad knowledge and experience in safety and DOT regulations
  • Experience with contract management and negotiation
  • Experience in inventory control, picking and receiving, freight, purchasing, fleet management and labor tracking
  • Ability to work flexible hours when company deems necessary

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with 5-10 years of management/leadership experience, preferably in logistics/freight and/or transportation

The Maintenance Technician will perform mechanical equipment maintenance and repairs for the overall maintenance of the facilities, grounds and equipment at Pleasant View Gardens. You will also address maintenance tasks and responsibilities for the greenhouse operating systems. All tasks are expected to be completed in an organized, timely and cost effective manner. To succeed in this role, you should be a self motivated team player with a positive outlook, solid work ethic and strong communication skills.

Requirements and Job Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintenance of greenhouse facilities
  • Follow OSHA regulation and company safety policies and procedures
  • Work cooperatively and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
  • General knowledge and exposure to industrial electrical work
  • Ability to construct office and operational areas, from stud walls to drywall
  • Knowledge of plumbing and irrigation systems
  • Exposure to equipment operation and maintenance (forklifts and scissor lifts, etc…)
  • Required to be on a rotating schedule (off hours and/or weekends) to respond to events, emergencies and incidents.

Required education and experience:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to be certified on heavy equipment including forklifts, tractors and scissor lifts

The Product Manager at Pleasant View Gardens will be responsible for guiding the direction of the Finished Goods portion of our business.  You will work closely with R&D, Sales, Marketing, Production, and Finance to create new products and programs.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Travel within Finished sales territory to existing and potential customers to uncover trends and unmatched product needs
  • Creates long term relationships with key retailers to help with product development
  • Works with R&D to develop new packaging and container offerings that address market needs
  • Manage relationships with pertinent vendors
  • Assists in development of marketing and sales tools
  • Responsible for launch and promotion of new products
  • Analyze product specifications, review product life cycle, recommend and appraise new product ideas and/or packaging changes
  • As the product expert, the candidate will communicate product and program details to both internal staff and external customers
  • Assess market competition by comparing company products to competitors’ products
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending trade shows and events, reviewing industry publications, and establishing personal networks

Required knowledge and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing (preferred) plus 2 or more years of experience in financial and/or sales analysis.
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and ability to effectively produce results.
  • A high proficiency in extracting and mining data, project lead capabilities and a demonstrated ability to execute action plans is necessary.
  • Proficiency in computer skills such as Access, Excel, Microsoft Products (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

The Logistics Clerk will perform a variety of shipping and receiving tasks including recording data, restocking and sort materials. This position will work closely and effectively communicate with all levels of Shipping as well as other departments (Human Resources, Transportation and Production) and locations.

  • Restock hard goods
  • Sort plant materials

Required knowledge and skills:

  • Excellent attention to detail, accurate data entry, organization and time management skills
  • Proficiency in MS office products including Excel, Outlook and Word and the ability to learn custom software (PICAS) is necessary
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • One or more years of college preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to be trained and certified on heavy equipment
