The R&D Trials Coordinator will be part of our team of Horticultural experts at Pleasant View Gardens that’s responsible for bringing new and exciting plant genetics to the consumer market under the Proven Winners® plant brand. In this role, you’ll oversee the execution of day-to-day greenhouse and field activities associated with our plant trials. The Trials Coordinator will assist with creating trials, and maintaining up to date and accurate records in the trials database.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate daily and weekly tasks with crew members and interns.
  • Set goals / expectations and train crew members on trialing protocols.
  • Collaborate with partner trial sites, laboratories and plant breeders for status of plant material in trials and timely transfer of material
  • Produce updates and assist in outlining objectives during weekly planning meetings
  • Coordinate installation and maintenance of all plant material in trials
  • Become proficient with standard operating procedures for R&D production, greenhouse, and field tasks, and assist in developing new SOPs as necessary
  • Schedule and oversee R&D virus testing needs and communicate results effectively
  • Execute crop production schedules and assist in developing new schedules as needed
  • Work closely with growers to maintain quality plant material in all trials
  • Maintain PVG’s standards of safety and sanitation practices in all work areas
  • Crop Record Keeping: create trial work reports and update trial details in Microsoft Access database.
  • Monitor accurate plant inventory and communicate plant status within the trial network

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • General knowledge of Horticulture including plant production & greenhouse management.
  • Strong organization and computer skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to train and lead crew members
  • Ability to be certified to operate a forklift, golf cart and tractor

Education, Certification and Experience Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelors in Horticulture or agriculture preferred, but not required
  • At least two years greenhouse experience preferred
  • Computer Skills: proficient in Microsoft Excel, and the ability to learn custom software (PICAS) and Microsoft Access is necessary

As a Seasonal Driver at Pleasant View Gardens, you’ll join a Logistics Team that is dedicated to excellent customer service by delivering products in a professional and efficient manner.

Seasonal Drivers will operate vehicles safely, and keep organized and accurate records.  You will inform the Logistics Coordinator and/or appropriate Pleasant View Gardens (PVG) staff when problems arise and work with the team to meet the business goals of Pleasant View Gardens.  Seasonal Drivers are expected to communicate in an effective & professional manner with appropriate PVG staff and customers.


Daily Responsibilities:

  • Map out and organize daily delivery routes and follow delivery schedules
  • Safely operate the equipment necessary (cages, load bars, straps, pallet jacks, maps and GPS units) for successful delivery of orders to Pleasant View’s customers
  • Unload trucks when returning from runs; load vehicles when necessary
  • Complete and keep DOT logs, records and run sheets up-to-date
  • Document shortages and discrepancies and provide this information in a timely manner to appropriate logistic team member
  • Establish, maintain and strengthen professional communication with customers



  • Minimum 21 years of age (to drive out-of-state)

  • Must have the capacity to be certified on heavy equipment including forklifts, tractors and scissor lifts.

The Testing Clerk will work closely with the Growers and assist with sample collection and preparing samples for testing. The testing clerk will perform pH and EC testing as directed and assist with integrated pest management duties.


Sample Testing:

  • Collect samples accurately
  • Sort samples, grind samples and prepare testing equipment
  • Prepare and dispense testing buffers
  • p.H and E.C Testing
  • Find samples and collect leachate accurately
  • Record data correctly
  • Assist with collection and replacement of insect monitoring cards
  • Work and communicate closely with all levels of Growers and interfacing departments (Human Resources, Inventory Control, Production and Shipping)
  • Work on special projects as needed

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of this position (bending, squatting).
  • Knowledge and experience with handling and facilitating maintenance of testing experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management to complete assigned tasks in a timely fashion
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
