Pleasant View Gardens is looking for a Production Team Leader with high energy and the ability to coordinate the activities of the production crew. You’ll communicate with the growing team regularly and train crew members to achieve quality and production goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily and weekly planning with production manager to determine the flow and timing of tasks as well as daily goals and process changes.
  • Assist leaders with the setup of crews
  • Consult with growing team to establish quality guidelines and crop placement
  • Oversee the productivity of crews, quality and accuracy of work
  • Daily communication with other operations personnel
  • Work as part of the crew when in-between tasks and during off peak seasons
  • Coordinate with growers on ideal locations for plants and activity plans
  • Ensure that daily time sheets have been recorded, collected and processed
  • Ensure that employee job codes are accurate
  • Provide training for production staff to learn all necessary production processes. Teach, coach, correct and reinforce
  • Communicate with the Quality and Inventory Control Dept. regarding plant maintenance requests.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience using Microsoft office products combined with the ability to learn new software programs (time & attendance software, and PICAS production software)
  • Detail oriented and organized with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility to work the hours necessary to meet the needs of Pleasant View customers which may include overtime hours, daily and/or weekends.

Education Requirements:

  • Associates degree preferred, but not required. High School diploma require

The Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the success of the transportation department at Pleasant View Gardens.  Reporting to the Transportation Supervisor, you’ll coordinate the daily workflow for the delivery of products and be the communication conduit within the transportation department and between transportation and other departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide the Transportation Supervisor with transportation paperwork and be ready to discuss daily priorities.
  • Weekly planning with Transportation Supervisor to organize the flow of work, staffing needs and delivery schedule.
  • Contact customers to provide notification of delivery, verify address and confirm directions. Obtain customer feedback regarding PVG’s service, drivers, and claims and quality of plant material.
  • Coordinate with necessary internal departments to ensure communication regarding delivery of material shipped by PVG (Sales, CQIC, Shipping and Customer Relations).
  • Create and provide drivers with load lists, reports, run sheets with directions, paperwork for palletized program and invoices.
  • Coordinate orders and create routing solutions utilizing necessary tools to ensure best shipping methods.
  • Accurate data entry and record keeping for truck routing reports, yearly mileage logs; audit drivers logs to ensure DOT compliance; report actual truck mileage to vendors.
  • Provide support for daily timesheet collection and processing.
  • Participate in weekly vehicle and equipment damage inspections and communicate with maintenance or vendors regarding maintenance or repairs.
  • Assist in the delivery of products to required destination.
  • Assist other departments during non-peak season.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 3-5 years related experience, preferably in the transportation industry
  • 2+ years of routing experience preferred; or a combination of education and experience thereof.
  • Knowledge of DOT Compliance preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

The Shipping Crew Leader will assist the Shipping Supervisor in overseeing the activity and efficiency of shipping crew members. You will coordinate the workflow of daily shipping activities and guide crew members to achieve quality and shipping goals. Encourage teamwork while problem solving.

Job Duties:

  • Coordinate crew member tasks
  • Use high level of efficiency in sorting pulled material
  • Maintain balance between efficient performance and quality product
  • Track crew’s labor and attendance in Novatime
  • Continuous development and training of crew members
  • Select healthy plant material for shipping
  • Clean plant material (deadheading, remove leaves, replace sub-par material)
  • Pull, prepare and pack orders on cages or boxing
  • Prepare the shipping paperwork and tags

We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team! The Maintenance Technician will perform mechanical equipment maintenance and repairs for the overall maintenance of the facilities, grounds and equipment at Pleasant View Gardens. You will also address maintenance tasks and responsibilities for the greenhouse operating systems. All tasks are expected to be completed in an organized, timely and cost effective manner. To succeed in this role, you should be a self motivated team player with a positive outlook, solid work ethic and strong communication skills.

Requirements and job responsibilities:

  • General knowledge and exposure to industrial electrical work
  • Ability to construct office and operational areas, from stud walls to drywall
  • Knowledge of plumbing and irrigation systems
  • Exposure to equipment operation and maintenance (forklifts and scissor lifts, etc…)
  • Repair and maintenance of greenhouse facilities
  • Follows OSHA regulation and company safety policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
  • Required to be on a rotating schedule (off hours and/or weekends) to respond to events, emergencies and incidents.

Education / Experience Required:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to be certified on heavy equipment including forklifts, tractors and scissor lifts
